This post is about the question on how we track the commissions or rewards for our Influencers.
For each Influencer we generate a dedicated discount coupon code, which will give to the audience a 5% discount on any purchase made through our site and marketplace. For instance the discount code for our Influencer Roy is “roy5p”
The advantage of this tracking method is that it is natural, has a self-motivation from buyer to use it, and works over any channel even if the buyer changes computer or device. On top of the 5% discount the buyer also gets our “Free Shipping” offer for all orders coming from the US.

Once you receive a product or multiple products, the first thing our brands expect from you is engaging content creation. We invite you to video record your unboxing and take photos and create some short but great content. This content needs to be added to your own Product Profile version, in your Ctailer Store. This can be done by following these steps:
- Login to your Marketplace dashboard by clicking here or on “Assign Product” in the left menu
- Search for the product you want to assign to your store
- Click on “Sell Yours” to add that product to your store
The generic product profile will appear, please replace the description, and photos and videos with your own creation.
Below are some guidelines and examples as to how to create content for the products you receive
Content Creation Guidelines
Here are some guidelines as to how to take photos and videos for the products you receive.
The general idea is try to be natural, an amateur look is ok, just act as a “Partner” of the Brand and not as a detached “Marketer”.
Take & Upload at least 1 Good Photo of your face and the product nearby (you are endorsing the product)
Take & Upload at least 3 Photos of the product with a nice background (different angles/sides/positions)
Create & Upload at least 1 Video unboxing/review per item (1 to 5 min)
Description: Write a 2 sentence marketing description of the product (minimum 30 words)

Now once you have created this great content for our Brand, you need to upload it to your “Assigned Product” page within your Ctailer Store. Follow guidelines below:
How to Assign/Edit a Product in your Ctailer Store
At Ctailer we are doing our best to monetize your audience. There are 2 different ways for you to earn some income by working with/for our partner Brands:
Commissions on sales coming from your Social Media pages:
Every time someone from your audience is using your dedicated voucher code of 5% discount, our e-commerce system will recognize you automatically as being the referrer. Your commission will then be generated for every sale, including future purchases from the same recruited buyer. The percentage of the commission depends on the type of product and the Brand and are specified in your Brand/Influencer project before starting your campaigns. You will need to make sure that you have received your dedicated voucher code, or your dedicated affiliate tracking links before doing any promotion on your side (otherwise we will not be able to track your sales data).
Commission on sales for orders via your dedicated Influencer store:
For Lead Influencers ($29/month) we create for you a dedicated e-commerce store, ready to go with all the products you wish to advertise. The online store is already fully equipped with payment solutions and commission calculation for you. The look and feel of your e-Store will be an extension of your community profile (profile photo + cover image). You can also advertise and sell your own products and therefore make your online store look more complete and with greater choice for your audience.
Commission on sales for orders via your own Mobile Shopping Apps (iOS and Android):
For Power Influencers ($99/month) you can even have your own dedicated iOS and Android Mobile Shopping Apps. This is a great loyalty and funnel solution to capture all of your audience sales and orders. It also gives you a great image as you will be equipped with your own Mobile App featuring your logo/photo and colors and the products you have reviewed.
Our Brands also expect you to help with the logistics part, as this is by far the biggest problem especially for foreign brands. Here you will be acting as a “Fulfillment Partner”. Meaning you will be holding the inventory with you and fulfill orders for clients who are physically in your area. For instance a sale is done online for an item that you actually have in stock right now. And the client is from your City. You will receive a notification asking you if you can arrange for a 1 Mile radius delivers or available to receive a pickup from the buyer. You can inform via our system if you are available or not and when and how. For this type of activity you are paid $3 for each item you get ready for pickup and $5 for each time you are the one to deliver to a buyer nearby.
In very rare cases, and at the discretion of our partner Brands, some products may be given for free to the influencers. But in general we are working with Small and Medium brands, who can not afford to give a product for free for each Influencer they want to work with. Especially that in our platform, a Brand my have a relation with dozens of Inluencers in order to cover multiple cities.
So the short answer to the question is: No, they are sent to you as a consignment.
Here is how it works when it comes to receiving products:
- You need to be selected by the Brand (profile completion helps a lot)
- You will receive 1 to 5 products from the Brand, and you don’t need to pay/buy these products
- You unbox, create engaging content, and promote the products (using links/voucher codes we give you).
- The products that you have on hand, you keep them until one of the following event happens:
- You manage to sell them in your local area or to your friends/family
- We receive an online order from a buyer from your area and you arrange local pickup/delivery
- You ship the items to a specified address we will give you (or we organize a courier pickup)
In some cases you may have to keep the items with you for a period of 1 to 3 months, but our mutual aim is to get the products sold as soon as possible, often our products are sold within few days of the Influencer receiving and communicating about them.
If you are interested and we strongly recommend it, you can also receive more inventory and be active as a “FulFillment Influencer”. Which means you will be our Brands local retail relay point, and Ambassador. We would be sending more people your way, online and offline, for them to buy from you or collect/pickup from you. You can also use this inventory to run your own pop-up store events, either in your home or at specific events you have identified.
Receiving products may be one of the main expectation you have when first joining our community. And we understand and appreciate that. However you need to understand the following points:
Brands are taking a financial and reputation risk with you:
You need to understand this and behave in a way as to reassure our Brands that you are legit and that you have a genuine potential as an influencer and Brand ambassador. Integrity is not only a requirement, on our platform Integrity is an attitude you need to truly adopt and convey. Who wants to send products in advance/consignment to someone who may just disappear and has no skin to lose in the game ?
This is why you need to complete your profile and be active in the community. You also have the option to apply for our “Verified Member” status or any other subscription we offer to increase or accelerate your trust building on our platform.
Brands are in survival and or growth mode:
What we mean here is that our community is not about Analytics and trends data or any other big data and macro economic information. Here we are about real trade, real commerce, real sales. Brands only understand one thing: If they send a product to an Influencer, sales will follow. And all our platform and services are geared to equip you with e-commerce, mobile commerce and point of sale (POS) solutions which can turn your social exposure into real sales. We will make it as easy and as automated as possible, for you to monetize your audience and track all the sales that you generate so you can be rewarded for every single cent that you deserve.

What we are not:
- Not a personal friendship network:
First, we need to emphasize that this is not a “Social Platform” for personal friendship development. That said we are cool and fun. Just we are not here to post “what i am doing right now”, or “how i feel at the moment” and any other personal life activities, or emotional mood information.
- Not a quick buck making activity:
Anything that relates to Branding and Sales is a long term investment and a quality oriented endeavor. If you are desperate about making money right now, or looking for a “limited responsibility/effort” activity, this would not serve you well. If you are here it is to build your reputation and that of our brand, and fulfill our mutual potentials. It may take a month to see the first results, or it may take a year, it all depends on the time/effort/skill you will invest.
What we are:
We are a “Commercially Oriented” social platform, to link to Brands and other influencers. We are here to do business, and make money while doing good (poverty & carbon reduction). Our ultimate objective is to have our Brands run out of stock.
3 main posting activities that we allow and encourage:
- Introduction Post (about yourself):
When you first register (and later as an update), it is good to do one post where you present your Social media channels, your work (photos, videos, articles), your portfolio and former experiences in the world of Influencing or sales & marketing. You can update and re-post about your profile later again, but do not do it too often and just for the purpose of showing up again on the top of our community stream. Do it when there is a major or relevant update to your profile. Be reasonable, this is all we ask.
- Posting Unboxing/Brands/Product related content:
Any content that you create and that concerns our Brands/Products is welcome, as long as they add value. Meaning that we do not want you to post a photo or video/article that was done by someone else already. If you receive products fro unboxing from our Brand, then you “must” post this kind of information, as the Brands are coming to our platform for the purpose of gaining exposure.
- Comments & Reactions:
We also strongly encourage you to comment and react, in a polite and constructive manners, to our posts, those of our Brands and other fellow Influencers. Help the community better advise our Brands, inform about the trends, the demand, the tastes and the specificity of your community/audience/culture. Keep in mind that the majority of our Brands are small enterprises from developing countries, who may not be familiar with the US culture, the States and large Cities cultures and life styles. Through your comments/reactions, you are already manifesting your interest in the Brand/Product, and it is great if you can add more value by commenting on how best reach this or that niche market, or which colors, sizes, styles may work better for your audience. For instance a valuable comment/reaction would be: I love this. My audience is very much into DIY Home decoration. I think they would love this, especially if they can use it “this way or that way”. This is very valuable to us and the Brands.
In general terms we invite you to be professional, or at least semi-professional. Fully express and exalt your unique personality, your fashion style, your tastes and your talent in your photos, videos and profile information. When it comes to communications in our platform, be reasonable, polite, respectful, friendly, short and clear, not too crazy and not too serious at the same time :-). If you still have doubt, take time to observe, read and learn from those who came before you, and be in touch with the community.
Why we create Groups:
Groups are created for the purpose of Geo-location organization, in order to optimize the logistics costs of the products shipments. Inside the groups we will publish specific information, opportunities and guidelines that are relevant to your location. A Brand may interact with a specific group to better understand the Culture/Trends of your City or State. As a group, members have more chances to collectively seduce a Brand to target their City and allocate them an inventory.
How it works:
A group usually has at least one Lead Ctailer and at least one Community Administrator. The Lead Ctailer often plays the role of “Logistic/Information” hub to the Group members. For instance lets take the case/scenario where we have 10 members in San Francisco and we have a Brand who wants to be actively promoted/represented in that City. We will ask the Brand to prepare one package for each Ctailer, consolidated in one larger carton. And that large Carton is sent to the Lead Ctailer who will then organize and dispatch to the concerned members. All communications between the Lead Ctailer and the members will be channeled through the Group stream.
You should join the nearest group from your current location, or at least the main city of your State. Best is to subscribe (and remain so) to all notifications of the group in order to keep reactive to new information and opportunities.
